The End Records commissioned me to do a tour poster for the second Sleepytime Gorilla Museum & Secret Chiefs 3 Tour in 2007. The two bands were far and away my favorite live bands at the time, so I was thrilled to do this again. I had done one the previous year. This time I drew the main illustration of the books and gorilla skull lamp with acrylic ink on illustration board. The photo was processed in photoshop and had the lettering and text-environment added in Illustrator. These were standard offset lithography posters printed by the label.
The main illustration. I left the background blank because I knew I was going to use digital text. I wish I had painted it though, it would have made a better artifact after the project was done. Because I'm some species of masochist, I hand drew the esoteric symbols on the books rather than collaging them.
